Day 1 - Arriving at Home Valley Station
What a journey! Today I finally arrived at Home Valley Station after an epic journey that saw me seeing the sights and sounds of Broome and Kununurra.
I met up with the four other teachers and Bruce and Brian from Bush Blitz before we started our two-hour drive to Home Valley Station, known more commonly as HV8. The country up here in the Kimberley is amazing; from the red earth to the beautiful boab trees. We drove along the Gibb River Road with incredible views of the Cockburn Range and then crossed the Pentecost River in our four-wheeled drive.
We settled in and set up our tents before relaxing and checking out the lab that the scientists have set up to look at the specimens and samples that they collect. I can't wait to get out into the field tomorrow!
